Vonnie Marie is a professional instructor and DJ at Atlanta Dance. She has been dancing since the age of six; tap, ballet and jazz. Her interest in ballroom dancing began because of the movie “Saturday Night Fever” and she wanted to learn the hustle. Her dance knowledge grew throughout high school and college, and she decided that dance would be a major part of her life.As a dance enthusiast with a desire to expand her professional knowledge, Vonnie directed her talent to the Fred Astaire Dance studio’s instructors’ program, where she studied and later began teaching and competing with other top competing professional instructors. Over the past 26 years, Vonnie has had coaching with top coaches and she has won many championships in many Regional and National Competitions.
Vonnie also developed another wonderful side of dance with a love for the music of ballroom dancing. She is now an accomplished Ballroom Dance DJ, with a large CD library of music that is always being updated to the music of today.
The ability to compete professionally is a wonderful skill, but the ability to impart this knowledge to students requires an even more exceptional skill and desire. Vonnie loves to teach students in a friendly manner and she takes great reward in helping students fulfill their goals.
