Jil Coe

Jil Coe, instructor at Atlanta DanceI never remember NOT wanting to dance.  I pleaded with my parents until they gave in and let me take tap, jazz and ballet at age 12.

At 21 I walked into an Arthur Murray Studio in Shreveport, LA.  I checked every dance on the questionnaire and filled in every other dance I had ever heard of.  They offered to put me in their teacher training program that day.  I moved and thought that would be the end of my dancing profession.

Another move to Houston, TX in 1981 found me working with Jim and Linda Gehring at Fred Astaire.  I had the thrill of working with eight World Champions!  I was a kid in a candy store!  I specialized in first time students, teaching the basics of the six major dances.

In 2001 I heard about Atlanta Dance; checked it out on a Friday night and I was hooked!  It was like getting back on a bicycle.  I am never happier than when I am dancing!  I check my troubles at the door, the world goes away and I am Cinderella!

I hope to have the privilege of introducing you to my magical, wonderful world of Dance!
