"Menopause 'kicked me in the butt'! All the techniques including dieting and exercise that I had been successful with losing 'unwanted weight' were no longer effective. I joined Zumba, stood in the back row and focused on my waist down because I could not co-ordinate the total body movement. After I mastered my leg movements, I slowly add the arm movements. I have been told by a co-worker to just keep moving and that too was helpful. My mother had been diagnosed with vascular dementia so I felt that learning something new would also be good for my 'brain health'. I love it! As a result of Zumba and proper nutrition, I lost 40 pounds over a year and I have maintained my weight for an additional year."
